“ What a wonderful experience we had at dinner tonight. Not pictured was the dal & Naan we had. My wife got the chicken Tikka kebab plate & I had the beef kubideh plate. Every last bit of food was so flavorful & delicious. We absolutely can't wait to go back. ”

“ Absolutely fantastic restaurant with large portions of freshly prepared food and the kindest wait staff. Highly recommend their chicken thigh and the Tikka Kabab plate with lamb! Not to mention the phenomenal, freshly baked naan. Everything is full of flavor and they have additional sauces and spices at the table. The only thing not made in-house is the baklava, but it's still very good! Don't be dismayed by the diner-like interior or the paper plates that are provided. The staff are also super friendly, making us feel right at home as they provided suggestions and took time to TRULY check-in. We really appreciate how engaging they were, even the owner! They also offer complementary tea! ”

“ Spice Kebob is amazing! The tikka and shami kebabs, along with the fish, are some of the best and most perfectly marinated foods I’ve had in great sacramento area. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right. The Indian-style tea (chai) at the end was excellent and helped digest the meal perfectly. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Afghan food. Definitely stop by and try it for yourself ”

“ Spice Kabab: A Flavorful Journey Through Afghanistan in Rancho Cordova Stepping into Spice Kabab in Rancho Cordova, you're greeted by the rich and warm aromas of authentic Afghan and Pakistani cuisine. The experience was focused on a selection of their most popular dishes, all of which reflect the talent and dedication of owner Khalid and the kababchef, Najibullah Sarwari. His passion for his craft is evident in every bite, from the perfectly grilled Tikka Kabab and Chicken Kabab to the rich Goat Karahi and the variety of freshly baked naans. The Kababs: Perfectly Grilled Perfection by Najibullah Sarwari, and the attentive team, Nazila, Hussain and Siahmoi • Tikka Kabab: The Tikka Kabab was a true highlight. The meat, marinated with a blend of yogurt and aromatic spices, was incredibly tender and juicy. Each piece was grilled to perfection, giving it a beautiful char on the outside while retaining its succulent interior. The flavor profile was robust, with a perfect balance of smoky, spicy, and savory notes that were not overpowering. This dish is a testament to the classic preparation and quality ingredients that Najibullah Sarwari is known for. • Chicken Kabab: The Chicken Kabab was equally impressive. The ground chicken was seasoned with a delightful mix of herbs and spices, formed into perfectly shaped skewers, and then grilled. The result was a moist and flavorful kabab that was both light and satisfying. It had a comforting, home-cooked feel to it and paired wonderfully with the mint chutney that was provided. Najibullah Sarwari's dedication to his craft truly shines through in these kababs. Main Course: The Unforgettable Goat Karahi • Goat Karahi: The Goat Karahi was the centerpiece of the meal. This is a dish that showcases the chef's skill, and at Spice Kabab, it did not disappoint. The goat was cooked slowly in a traditional wok (karahi) with tomatoes, ginger, green chilies, and a medley of spices. The meat was exceptionally tender, almost falling off the bone, and it absorbed all the rich flavors of the gravy. The karahi had a beautiful, rustic texture, and the spices were balanced to perfection—spicy enough to warm the palate but not so much that it masked the natural flavor of the goat. It was a deeply satisfying and authentic dish that felt like it was prepared with great care. The Breads: Essential Accompaniments • Naan and Garlic Naan: A meal like this would not be complete without fresh bread, and Spice Kabab's naan was outstanding. The regular naan was soft, fluffy, and had a lovely chew, perfect for scooping up the rich karahi gravy. The garlic naan was even better. It was generously brushed with a mixture of garlic and butter, giving it a fragrant aroma and a savory, garlicky flavor that elevated every bite. Both were clearly baked fresh to order in a tandoor. The Verdict Spice Kabab offers a truly authentic and delicious dining experience. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is evident in every dish. The kababs, crafted with talent and dedication by Najibullah Sarwari, are perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the goat karahi is a must-try for anyone who appreciates slow-cooked, rich curries. The fresh naans serve as the ideal accompaniment, completing a truly satisfying and memorable meal. For anyone looking for a taste of authentic Afghan and Pakistani cuisine in Rancho Cordova, I would highly recommend visiting Spice Kabab. ”
